8/13/2023 0 Comments Chrome hearts ringI'm very satisfied but it's very much a YMMV situation and I went in knowing they catered to an aesthetic I enjoyed enough to pay for.For Chrome Hearts enthusiasts, a Chrome Hearts ring is much more than a fashion statement. Their offerings are obviously very limited being a tiny independent brand but the prices are more modest, I enjoy a couple of their pieces, and I love supporting smaller amateur brands.Īt the end of the day i'd say if you manage to sift through all their tacky shit Chrome Hearts has some nice pieces for sure and their LA store is pretty dope if you got the chance to check it out, but unless you're partial to any of their designs it's not where you'd want to look to get bang for your buck, obviously. I'd definitely second the recommendations for The Great Frog, as they make pretty nice pieces at a more tolerable price range that i've heard good things about, and i'd also mention Youthful Peoples as they're a very small brand I came about through streetwearstartup. They have diamond encrusted pieces as well but once again, same story. The gold rings are definitely significantly more expensive from what I saw in the store, and even some of their silver pieces that have variants with gold embellishments or detailing are exponentially more expensive than their silver counterparts. Whether or not their designs appeal to you enough to justify the mark-up is obviously a different story but that's kind of my logic when going about purchasing designer clothing in general considering more often than not value isn't exactly the priority in a sense. I think that despite the value objectively not really being there with the price tag the disparity is excusable for me personally because I really liked the piece and sort of wanted something as a take home from my visit at the store anyways, since that's something I like to do when I get the opportunity to visit stores that I happen to be near during travel. Personally I don't regret it at all as I was already actively looking to pick up a new ring or two and while Chrome Hearts does make a lot of really corny gaudy shit some of their pieces have an aesthetic I really enjoy which is rare for me considering i'm especially picky with jewellery. Had to go with the nail ring since a few other pieces I was considering weren't available in my size, and bought it for about $280 USD after tax. I agree that their apparel is pretty gross, and often times even more overpriced than their jewellery, but there were definitely a lot of nice pieces in the display they had for their silver jewellery that I was interested in. I stopped by the Chrome Hearts store during my visit to LA a few weeks ago and picked up one of their silver nail rings after some CH pieces on Grailed caught my interest and I found out they had a store there. I get paying for the name brand on jewelry but this ain't Cartier or Tiffany's he's got a legit resume but they're benefitting from the current superficial hip hop/fashion's temporary lens on rocker/metal/biker culture, like Jerry Lorenzo's $400 metal tees It's sterling silver - you can buy original shit for less. Not saying it's bad or you have to be into jewelry but it's just hyped/overpriced if money concerns you. Only difference is they're selling to men who don't know much about jewelry and don't realize you can get similar authentic vintage stuff on Etsy, or new stuff in a Christian bookstore. Especially considering so much of their stuff is aged silver. They're just reappropriating so much vintage French + christian jewelry motifs. I think you can find plenty of cheap or vintage jewelry that works just fine in its place.
